MyExcelTools adds 270 commands and 36 worksheet functions to desktop Excel for cleaning text, reshaping data and building formulas. Every change that writes to your sheet shows a preview first and asks you to save a recovery copy.

What it does

Preview, then apply
Changes show a before-and-after preview. Cancel and nothing is written. Apply and you are asked to save a recovery copy first.
270 commands, 36 functions
Text, numbers, dates, sorting, selecting by criteria, moving data, sheets, rows and columns, plus functions such as MET_CountWords.
Power Query and PivotTables
Six Power Query builders (clean spaces, remove duplicates, keep matching rows, fill blanks, unpivot, total by category) and four PivotTable tools. They work on a copy and leave your original alone.
Formula builders
Build exact lookups, SUMIFS and COUNTIFS, and check a range for formula errors without writing the formula yourself.
Local only
No account, no cloud and no tracking. Nothing leaves your computer.

  • The add-in (an Excel add-in file) and the portable workbook. Use one at a time.
  • An optional workbook with four ready-made Power Query examples
  • A step-by-step guide with a practice exercise

What you need

  • Desktop Excel. Not Excel on the web or on a phone.
  • Macros allowed under your own security policy. The files are not code-signed.
  • On Windows, unblock the downloaded ZIP before unzipping it, or Office will block the macros. The guide shows how.

Know before you buy

  • Tested on Excel for Mac (Office LTSC 2024), where 444 automated checks passed. Windows Excel has not been tested yet.
  • The checks do not cover every command or every unusual workbook. Try a copy of your data first.
  • Power Query tools were tested on local data in the workbook, not on outside or signed-in data sources.
  • Pattern-matching helpers need a version of Excel that includes the REGEX functions.
  • It is an independent tool with its own commands. It is not a copy of any other add-in and does not match any other add-in's full feature list.
